Part of our mission statement here at Sea Coast Staffing is to “Be involved in the local business community, supporting mutually beneficial relationships between our clients, candidates and business colleagues.” And as a result of that involvement we have had the privilege of getting to know many amazing and talented people. Since we are always ones to celebrate and break out the Chardonnay, we wanted to give a few shout-outs this week to some of our amazing colleagues and friends!
A huge congratulation to Jane Birnbach, senior development director for Good Shepherd Center. Last week Certified Fundraising Executive International named Jane as a Certified Fund Raising Executive. CFRE International is an independent organization that sets super high standards in philanthropic practice. Jane is ridiculously good at what she does and Good Shepherd (and Wilmington) are so lucky to have her!! Good Shepherd Center will hold their 3rd Annual Flavor of North Carolina this Saturday, October 29th, at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort. Come join us and help raise money for this amazing organization and congratulate Jane on her accomplishment!
Our second shout-out goes to Tina Ablang and Chris Gore, owners and operators of Events at Watermark for their awesome Wilmington Seafood Festival last weekend! This was the second year for the festival showcasing their beautiful setting, local seafood, and fun activities. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing, the crowds were overflowing both Saturday and Sunday and the bartenders and wait staff were wonderful (sorry – little shout out to Sea Coast Staffing for that one!). This year’s festival benefited the Pretty in Pink Foundation. If you didn’t make it to this year’s festival then put next years on your calendar – the Events at Watermark setting is one of the most beautiful spots in Wilmington, and Tina and Chris know how to throw a great party!
Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to our own Sierra Briney. Sierra first came to Sea Coast last year as an intern from Cape Fear Community College’s Hospitality program. She worked with us part-time for a couple of months while she was still a student and she was so good and fit into our team so well that we snapped her up after she graduated last Spring! Originally from St. Joseph, Michigan, Sierra relocated to Wilmington in 2014 and she is already a huge Carolina Panthers fan. Sierra is an integral part of our amazing Events Team and is the always smiling face that greets you at Sea Coast. We’ve known what a treasure she is since we met her, but obviously, Cape Fear Community College does too. She was recently asked to be part of their Hospitality Management Advisory Board. Go Sierra!
So many wonderful accomplishments and friends and colleagues to celebrate. Pass the Chardonnay!
